Extra-Oral Examination

We will need to stꦚart by looking at some things that are no𝔉t actually in your mouth!

Often we are doing this whilꦬe we are tal♓king to you. We are looking at lips, cheeks, jaw and any lumps and bumps.

Intra-Oral Examination

Then we will examine your mouth. We will look at:

• Soft tissues
• Gum assessment
• Teeth – examination assesses missing teeth, existing restorations, presence of decay, tooth vitality
• We will look at your 'bite'
• We may take some Xrays (intra-oral radiographs) – to enable us to 'see' between teeth and under any restorations for decay or other pathology
